Cow made of snow

Hello to all readers of my blog. I found some interesting photos in my archive and decided to share them with you. I made this snow cow in 2021. Surprisingly, in Ukraine they pay a lot of attention to the Chinese symbols of the year. In bookstores you can find many pocket calendars with the symbol of the coming year. And at New Year’s fairs, themed fridge magnets and Christmas tree decorations are sold everywhere. If you’re lucky, you can find hand-painted Christmas tree decorations. In our family, there was a tradition of buying one magnet with the symbol of the year and several Christmas tree decorations every year. I wanted to collect all the symbols of the year, but this takes 12 years. Unfortunately, I was literally a few years short, and what I had, I lost because of the war.

This was a small digression, I wanted to share our small family traditions and explain why I was interested in making a snow cow. This symbol of the year was created in just a few hours by our small family: me, my daughter and husband. Such moments bring a lot of joy. I already had a little experience in painting snow sculptures, so I painted the snow cow in the same way as my previous sculptures. You can read more about it here.

In conclusion, I decided to make the eyes and mouth out of paper. It is better to do this out of cardboard. I cut out the shape, painted it with felt-tip pens, and glued a bamboo toothpick to the back using a glue gun. Such a simple device attaches well to the snow sculpture. Well, that’s all, below you can see photos of the cow made of snow that we got.
